
What equipment do I need to receive Freesat HD programmes?
You will need a Freesat HD or Freesat+ set-top box, and a HD Ready TV with an available HDMI input. Connection between the Freesat set-top box and the TV should be with a HDMI cable only. For the latest information on Freesat HD programmes, and on the equipment on offer visit www.freesat.co.uk.
Can I use the satellite dish that is already at my property?
This should be possible. We recommend that your existing installation receives a full 'health check' from a qualified installer. Your retailer will be able to advise you on this when purchasing your Freesat set-top box.
In which direction should my satellite dish be positioned?
Your satellite dish should be fitted on a South facing wall in the direction of 28.2° East of South. It is strongly recommended that the positioning of a satellite dish is carried out by a qualified installer.
Can I connect more than one freesat receiver to my satellite dish?
Yes. You will need to have a satellite dish fitted that has more than one connection. Dishes typically have 1, 2, 4 or 8 connections. You will need one connection for each tuner on your Freesat set-top box. A Freesat+ recorder will need both tuners connected.
How do I get replacement parts for my Freesat set-top box?

How much does it cost to call the Helpline?

How do I perform another 'First Time Install' ?
Press the 'MENU' button on your remote control, and choose 'First Time Install' from the Settings menu.
Why do I have to enter my Postcode in the first time setup?
This enables you to receive programmes specific to your local region e.g. local news and weather.
I only have one cable that comes from my satellite dish, can I still install my Freesat+ recorder?
No, your Freesat+ recorder requires connection by two cables from your satellite dish in order to function correctly.
My Freesat set-top box is asking for a PIN number, what is it?
Your PIN number is set when you first install your receiver. Typically 0000 or 4000 is used.
How do I find numbers when entering my Postcode?
Numbers are selected after the letters, for example to select the number 2, press the '2' key on your remote control four times.
How do I add non Freesat channels like Dave, 5USA, and 5*?
These channels are not available on Freesat, however there are others such as Sky News that can be added by following the instructions in your User Guide.
Can I record two programmes at the same time?
Yes, with a Freesat+ recorder you can record two programmes at once.
Can I record from my Freesat set-top box to a video or DVD recorder?
With high definition set-top boxes you can. Your User Guide will show you which cables you will need. Standard definition set-top boxes have only one scart socket so it is not possible to record to a video or DVD recorder.
How do I stop a recording?
To stop a recording, go to the Library window and select the programme that you want to stop from the list. Press the stop button and the recording will stop.
Do I have to wait for the programme to finish recording before I can start to watch it?
No, you can select the programme from the Library and start to watch it whilst it is still recording.
