Food Preservation

Before purchasing a new refrigerator, it’s helpful to understand how our refrigeration technologies can help keep your food fresher for longer. We have packed our appliances full of innovative food preservation features that will reduce the amount of food that goes to waste. Read more about our features below to help you in your search.

  • VitaminZone

To help keep your food looking and tasting fresher for longer, our VitaminZone technology uses innovative three-colour light technology to simulate the sun’s natural cycle. By recreating the power of sunlight through LED lights, VitaminZone helps preserve your food’s vitamins and nutrients, while also reducing your food waste.

  • Vitamin Care Zone

Located in the crisper drawer, our VitaminCare Zone features a blue light that simulates natural light, locking in the Vitamin C content in your fresh food. So you can relax, knowing your family are eating the healthiest meals possible.

  • IonFresh

By neutralising harmful bacteria in the fridge, our IonFresh technology keeps the air inside the fridge clean and hygienic, helping your food stay fresher for longer.

  • Full Fresh+

Perfect for those who buy a large amount of fresh produce and are looking to reduce their food waste, our FullFresh+ crisper drawer provides optimum humidity levels in the crisper drawer, helping to keep your fruit and veg fresh for up to 3 times longer.

  • Super Fresh Zone

To further reduce your food wastage, we have designed our Super Fresh Zone that maintains a temperature just above freezing point. In doing so, this handy zone helps retain the flavour of your meat, fish and dairy.

  • Duo-Cooling

Our Duo-Cooling technology uses two separate cooling systems to maintain the best level of humidity in the fridge, whilst sustaining a dry freezer environment. As a result, there is less odour transfer between the fridge and freezer and less moisture loss for food kept in the fridge.

  • Fast Freeze

Our Fast Freeze function, located in the top compartments of our freezers, freezes 10% faster than any other compartment. In doing so, Fast Freeze helps to lock in essential nutrients and vitamins quickly to retain as much as possible, perfect for freezing freshly made, batch cooked meals.

  • Quick Cool

If you ever need to lower the temperature in your fridge rapidly, simply select the Quick Cool setting. This innovative feature is perfect for when you have done a large shopping trip as it helps to minimise temperature fluctuations in the fridge.

  • No Frost

If you want the convenience of not worrying about the dreaded manual defrost again, this is the feature for you. As a result, this feature will also prevent your food from sticking together, allowing you to grab your food with ease.

  • Non-Plumbed Water Dispenser

Featuring a non-plumbed water dispenser, a selection of our fridges and fridge freezers allow you to enjoy freshly chilled water at the touch of a button; without needing to be plumbed into your water system.

  • Plumbed Dispenser

With our plumbed dispenser refrigerators, you can have a constant supply of chilled and filtered water on tap.

  • Chrome Wine Rack

Optimise your space with one of our chrome wine racks that create the perfect place to store your wine and 2 litre soft drink bottles, whilst also adding a touch of style.

  • Door Open Alarm

Leaving a fridge door open can use up valuable energy and cause your food to waste quicker. Whether it's a light-handed family member or a household distraction that has called you away, some of our fridge freezers are fitted with an alarm to alert you. This will prevent the internal temperature of the appliance from rising, preserving your food and beverages.

  • Touch Control Digital Display

Our touch control digital display will allow you to control and adjust a range of settings, including Fast Freeze, Holiday Mode, temperature, and more.

Other Considerations

Whether you have already decided on the right refrigerator appliance for your home, or if you are still choosing from our extensive range, here are some helpful things to consider before you buy.

Before ordering your brand-new refrigerator, you should first take some measurements. Begin with considering the space the appliance will occupy. You should make a note of the height, width, and depth of the space to ensure that there is enough room for ventilation. Ideally, you will need 25mm of space around the sides, 30mm around the back, and 50mm of space between the top and the ceiling. It is also important to consider how much space is needed for the fridge or freezer doors to open properly, without swinging into any nearby doors or walls.

Finally, you will need to think about the delivery too. Note the measurements of any doorways and entrances where your appliance will travel though, otherwise you may be facing a complicated delivery. If your front entrance is not wide enough, you may want to consider other entrances into your home - namely, through your rear garden. Take time when considering your delivery options to help you get the most out of your space.
